Snake in the Grass
Previously Adopted Snakes
Our adoption archives contain the snakes that were adopted out more than one year ago.
Lily
Species: Corn snake
Sex: Female
Born: June 2003
Colour: Snow
Size: 2.5 feet
Lily was left with us because her owner was unable to care for her. When she arrived, she was suffering from hookworm. We have had her treated for hookworm, and she has almost tripled in size in the two months since her treatment. Previously, Lily was very small for her age, but she's now growing much more quickly. Lily will grow to a length of about 5 feet, and currently eats one hopper mouse every 1-2 weeks. Lily was adopted out to a home in Vancouver.
Kinky
Species: Corn snake
Sex: Female
Born: ~2002
Colour: Normal
Size: 3 feet
Kinky was our first rescue. She was found in a basement when she was between 2 and 4 months old. When found, she was seriously underweight, and now our biggest problem is keeping her from eating too much. She's a very gentle snake, and makes a wonderful pet.
Kinky's name comes from a set of bumps along her spine. This deformity is either genetic or the result of incubation at too high a temperature. She's the first snake that we rescued, and we adopted her ourselves as a pet. Kinky is the mascot for Snake in the Grass.
